We have white Giraffes

We have the unique presence of white giraffes in the conservancy. We've therefore put efforts to protect & conserve this rare species by conducting research & increasing awareness among local communities.

Community Involvement

The local community has benefited greatly from the conservancy i.e. through employment, microfinance programs, education support, & access to clean water.

Wild Dogs and Others

Ishaqbini is also home to many other wildlife species i.e. Zebras, Giraffes, Buffalos, Topi, Gerenuk, Cheetah, Leopards, Lions, Wild dogs, Ostrich, elephant, oryx

Conservation Efforts

Ishaqbini is home to many wildlife species i.e. Zebras, Giraffes, Buffalos, Topi, Gerenuk, Cheetah, Leopards, Lions, Wild dogs, Ostrich, elephant, oryx and over 100 different bird species with stable population

We have Buffaloes

We have strict measures that we take to ensure their safety and health, as well as the positive impact their presence has had on the ecosystem.

About Ishaqbini Conservancy

Ishaqbini Hirola Community Conservancy is located on the Eastern banks of the Tana River in Ijara Sub County, Garissa County covering an estimated total area of 68,000ha. The Ishaqbini Hirola Community Conservancy was established in 2007 and is owned and managed by the local Abdulla tribe of Somali ethnicity of Abalatiro, Kotile, Korisa and Hara locations, Masalani ward, who are pastoralist people residing in a semi-arid areas and livelihoods of the local people are largely dependent on their natural resources.

In a region that has almost no opportunities for formal employment and alternative livelihoods
